PARIS, Mar 23, 2014/ — Now available in Acne Studios stores and online at www.acnestudios.com , the Acne Studios Spring/Summer 2014 women’s collection is definitely nautical, uber-modern and fun.
Acne’s Creative Director Jonny Johansson already said that when he was designing the collection he was thinking of the classic poem “Till Havs” (Out to Sea) as performed by the Swedish opera singer Jussi Björling in a most dynamic way.
And of course, he referenced the traditional sources of a nautical inspiration – marine workwear that included denim, shirts and peacoats.
But using his innate understanding of the Millennial generation, Johansson graphical and geometric. The sailor collar is still there but it has been shredded though it kept its shape. The peacoat became brighter. Proposed in solids and prints, the dominant color is white with accents in clear blue, yellow and red.
With a re-imagination of the classics and wrapping them up in contemporary silhouettes, it is really no wonder that the Acne Studios Women Collection is an instant favorite once they hit store shelves.
