Diary of Academy of Art University Graduation 2013: Day 1 Late Afternoon

Day 1: May 7, 2013 Late Afternoon

Arriving at the Palace Hotel at around 2:45 PM, it gave me barely an hour to check in and get ready for Miki Novitski, the AAU Representative who will be our guide. I was on my way out the door when the house phone rang; informing me that Miki, prompt as always was at the hotel lobby picking up the AAU guests for graduation week.

At the lobby, I joined Christina Neault, Executive Producer of IMG, whom I knew from New York and Jayne Seward of Los Angeles-based Apparel News whom I also knew from fashion week.

From the hotel, it was a short ride to the Asian Art Museum which is currently showing the “Quest for Immortality” exhibit that touches on the Chinese Emperors beginning from the first one. It was really quite educational and very interesting. The Museum curator explained the beginning of the Chinese empire and the dynasties, and Chinese civilization that rivals the Egyptian of the same era.

Even if I try, I could not relate to you with confidence all the things that were discussed. Only thing I can say is that if you are in the San Francisco area, check out this exhibition. It is worth seeing especially the terra cotta warriors.

But for now, here are a few photos from the exhibition.
