It is a huge year for Pharrell Williams! Aside from being named the newest coach at NBC’s The Voice, he has also entered a long term partnership with adidas. The first adidas Originals x Pharrell Williams products will debut in the Summer of 2014.

This is the first time adidas has partnered with a designer who owns their own textile company. adidas will collaborate with Williams’ Bionic Yarn coming from The Vortex Project; an initiative with Parley for the Oceans to turn plastic debris from the oceans into yarn and fabric. Bionic Yarn will be used in some of Pharrell’s upcoming adidas Originals products.

Dirk hit the mark about Pharell. His Despicable Me franchise soundtracks, his Oscar-nominated song ‘Happy’ and his Grammy-winning collaboration with Daft Punk on the breakout dance hit ‘Get Lucky and his dominance in record sales in 2014, Pharrell Williams is one of the most bankable celebrities nowadays.
