Okay, it was actually expected to see Zachary Levi at the Shazam! Premiere. After all, he plays the titular DC Super Hero character. And another non-surprise is that he filled out nicely the Dunhill suit and custom Anto shirt that he was wearing.

You will not be surprised either if you have seen stills from the film or any of its trailers. Levi’s super hero physique ranks up high with all the superheroes no matter if they are Marvel or DC characters.

Just in case you are not up to date with the DC Universe, Shazam! is based on the premise that there is a superhero inside all of us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out.

In Billy Batson’s (Asher Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard.

Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test?

Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong).

David F. Sandberg (“Annabelle: Creation”) directs New Line Cinema’s “Shazam!,” and Peter Safran (“Aquaman,” “The Conjuring” and “Annabelle” films) produced the film.

“Shazam!” also stars Jack Dylan Grazer as Billy’s best friend and ultimate superhero enthusiast, Freddy, and Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou as the Wizard. The cast also includes Faithe Herman, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Marta Milans and Cooper Andrews.

Firmly set in the DC universe but with his own distinctly fun, family-centric tone, the screenplay is by Henry Gayden, story by Gayden and Darren Lemke, based on characters from DC. Shazam was created by Bill Parker and C.C. Beck.

Jeffrey Chernov, Christopher Godsick, Walter Hamada, Geoff Johns, Adam Schlagman, Richard Brener, Dave Neustadter, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia and Dwayne Johnson served as executive producers.

A New Line Cinema presentation, “Shazam!” is set for release beginning April 3, 2019. It will be distributed worldwide in 2D and 3D in theatres and IMAX by Warner Bros. Pictures.
