In anticipation of their participation on Designers Against AIDS charity event, Eastpak Artist Studio collaborated with Italian brand MSGM to create a unique backpack which will be auction, with 100% of the proceeds going to charity.
MSGM, together with Elio Fiorucci, represents the Italian voice within the EASTPAK ARTIST STUDIO for this fourth edition of Designers Against AIDS which involves 16 international designers the include Manolo Blahnik, Walter Van Beirendonck and Jean Paul Gaultier.
Massimo Giorgetti, designer and founder of MSGM, created a special edition of the brand’s iconic Padded pak’r Backpack® by Eastpak which is quirky, colorful and contemporary.
“For this backpack I fancied a girl who you put make-up in front of the mirror: so an eye, a mouth, lipstick. It is a real tribute to feminine beauty. The word is beauty. The result represents the brand as well,” says MSGM founder Massimo Giorgetti.
When asked for the reason for his participation, Massimo said, “My hope is that this project will help people affected by AIDS to live free of prejudice.”
The online auction for all creations of EASTPack will be open on http://artiststudio.eastpak.com/ on World AIDS Day, on December 1, 2014, then end the December 21, 2014 at midnight.
