Monday, March 17, 2014 saw the debut of Element Eden Advocate Amy Purdy in “Dancing with the Stars.”
A the top ranked adaptive snowboarder in the U.S. and three-time World Cup Para-snowboard winner, Amy Purdy has been through hardships that most of us will never face — or can even fathom. But what makes her story so incredible is not that fact that she lived a “normal” childhood then tragically lost her legs at age 19, but how she has persevered, taking implausible challenges and rising above them.
Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Amy spends most of her time working on her non-profit, Adaptive Action Sports, which she co-founded with Daniel Gale.
Like Amy’s Adaptive Action Sports, the Element Eden Advocate program was conceived to make a difference. Its program mission is to to inspire girls to follow their own path and to find a different perspective from the old standard.
Amy Purdy embodies this mission- her inspiring story has touched many hearts and the world has begun to take notice. Watch her full interview here:
