Forever 21 Unveils Spring 2012 Trends

Sixties Sorbet

NEW YORK, Nov 9, 2011/ — Unveiling its Spring 2012 collection last night, Forever 21 named four major trends for Spring 2012 – The Tea Room, Retro Revival, Rebel Yell and Sixties Sorbet.

Inspired by the Far East, the Tea Room features kimono sleeves, large floral prints on flowy/relaxed material. Fabrics of choice are sheer and chiffon.

With eyes on the early 20th century, the 19201 and 1930s beach chic took center stage with Retro Revival. Bold prints, tailored pieces, stripes, polka dots and high-waisted trousers are a big part of this collection.

Think Seattle sound and alternative music with Rebel Yell as it comes in strong with grunge, fringe graphic tees, distress denim and studs. The American flag also takes a prominent role.

If Rebel Yell was about challenging the establishment, the Sixties Sorbet is all about “the establishment.” Influenced by the popular Mad Men series, Sixties Sorbet is the teen equivalent with its 1960s shapes and silhouettes, pastel colors, girly (not granny) and Peter Pan collars with a generous use of lace.
