LOS ANGELES, Mar 19, 2004/ FW/ — Gen Art, the nation’s leading arts and entertainment organization dedicated to showcasing emerging artists, announced today that their highly anticipated Fall 2004 Fashion Show will celebrate innovative Los Angeles’ designers in a new and unique format for the organization.
The event, entitled The New Garde, will open Los Angeles’s Fall 2004 Fashion Week, and will showcase the collections of three emerging designers via dynamic and dramatic installations with models created in collaboration with the designers.
The New Garde will feature the Fall 2004 collections of three of the industry’s rising stars, including the feminine and ornately designed knitwear of Central St. Martin’s alum Coryn Madley, the dramatically minimal and finely tailored line Society for Rational Dress by Corinne Grassini, and the avant-garde innovations of Cosa Nostra .
The New Garde will take place at the Ten9Fifty Studios, located at 10950 Washington Blvd, just 2 miles from Smashbox Studios in Culver City, from 8:00-11:30pm on Monday, March 29.
The live model presentation portion of the event will last from 9:00-10:30pm.
In its sixth year of showcasing new designers in Los Angeles, The New Garde emphasizes Gen Art’s continued commitment to the growth of independent and spirited West Coast fashion talent.
These designers represent innovative design, which is a hallmark of Los Angeles fashion, and is of growing interest to the global fashion industry. Gen Art has created this show to celebrate and bring recognition to designers who make Los Angeles fashion unique.

Celebrating its tenth anniversary, Gen Art’s fashion program continues to be the leader in discovering and showcasing the next generation of design talent. In the last decade, Gen Art’s alumni list has grown to include top designers such as Zac Posen, Shoshanna, Rebecca Taylor, Chaiken, Hollywould, Milly, Eduardo Lucero, Michelle Mason, Cloak, Grey Ant, Alicia Lawhon and Louis Verdad, to name a few.
