Luxury Consumers Are Internet Savvy

laptopLOS ANGELES, Feb 7, 2008 / FW/ — Contrary to what some fashion pundits and some fashion houses believe, luxury consumers are internet savvy and use the web as its first touch-point when shopping for high value items, according to a new survey by Sterling Commerce, a provider of business management software that supports multi-channel retailing.

According to the survey, among households with incomes of $75,000 or more, 81% went online before making a purchase in the past three months. In addition, among those with incomes of $75,000 or more, 77% did research online as part of a store purchase.
