Pared back and sensual, the Barbara Casasola Spring/Summer 2014 collection marked the designer’s debut on the catwalk. And for this personal milestone, the Brazilian-born, Central Saint Martin’s grad revisited her signature mid-dress and translated this silhouette into combinations of separates.
Pure silks are employed throughout, contrasting solids and transparencies as well as matte and polished finishes. Details include laser cuts, box pleats, double-sided weaves and stapled seams.
Brazilian modernism remains the essential reference for Casasola. The results are elongated silhouettes that mix restraint and movement.
