ROME, Apr 15, 2011/ — Earlier today in Rome, actor Chris Hemsworth who plays the title role in the movie “Thor”, together with Kenneth Branagh who directed the film, fielded questions asked by the Roman press regarding the highly anticipated sci-fi/fantasy movie.
Based on the Marvel Comic superhero “Thor” series, the movie will be open first in Australia, Hemsworth’s native country, on April 21st, and then it opens in the U.S. on May 6, which is two weeks later.
Natalie Portman, who plays Jane Poster, Thor’s love interest is already way into her pregnancy and she is not expected to do much travelling for the movie. There is no word yet if the Academy-Award winning actress will make an appearance for the U.S. premiere.
Meanwhile, co-star Chris Hemsworth has been very busy this week promoting the film. His week began with a press conference in London on Monday, followed by another press junket in Paris, photo calls in Munich and Madrid and closing the week, the Aussie actor faced the Italian press.
