Heath Ledger

LOS ANGELES, Jan 22, 2008 / FW/ — He was nominated for an Oscar for his role as a gay cowboy in ‘Brokeback Mountain.’ He became a star in ‘A Knight’s Tale’ and co-starred with Halle Berry and Billy Bob Thorton in Monsters.

In Time Magazine’s obituary, they called him ‘Star in Distress,’ but to most teenage girls, he is a heartthrob, that probably would follow the footsteps of Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise in terms of popularity.

But, all of those would be just suppositions now. The Australian-born actor, a native of Perth who moved to Los Angeles at 19 is now gone. CNN reported that a suspected drug overdose is the cause of death.
