Marc Jacobs has reached yet another milestone. It was just announced that MTV in partnership with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) will be honoring the designer with the first-ever Fashion Trailblazer Award at this year’s Video Music Awards.
And the award makes total sense. Jacobs has incorporated music into his work on so many levels. His now infamous Perry Ellis Spring 1993 collection was a salute to grunge. Lady Gaga walked in his Fall 2016 runway show and he even featured Missy Elliott and Cher in ad campaigns. And let’s not forget the MTV logo sweatshirts from his Resort 2017 collection.
Watch Jacobs accept the award at the VMAs on August 26.
