CHICAGO, Feb 7, 2010 / — Partnering with Mad Men star and interior designer Bryan Batt, Playboy releases “The Hef”, a limited-edition loveseat designed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Playboy Clubs.
Hand signed by Playboy Founder, Editor-in-Chief and Chief Creative Officer Hugh M. Hefner, this unique loveseat incorporates design elements from the early 1960s – paying homage to the era when the Playboy Clubs were founded – while also incorporating contemporary style and functionality.
“I’m a fan of Mad Men and a one-of-a-kind Playboy piece by Bryan Batt to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Playboy Clubs seemed like a natural,” said Hefner. “The loveseat brings back memories of the early 1960s, a time when Playboy solidified its place in American culture, in part with the introduction of the Playboy Clubs.”
“The inspiration for this piece came from a 1960s photograph from the original Playboy mansion in Chicago,” said designer Bryan Batt. “The design of the loveseat speaks to the sensibility of a time when suits and sexy were au courant.”
“The Hef,” which is made with luxury materials such as grey mohair upholstery, nail head detailing and rosewood side panels, will be in limited production, with only 50 pieces available for sale. This exclusive collectors’ item will retail through www.hazelnutneworleans.com for $15,000.
