NEW YORK, Sep 8, 2010 / FW/ — A perfect summer day in New York also turned out to be a perfect first visit at Lincoln Center, the new home of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
This was the first time that I have ever seen the new venue and even from outside, it looks impressive. A marble monolith proclaiming “Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week” greets you when you arrive. And since today is the day before the official kick off, the entrance was still closed to the public and only the crew can go in.
And kudos to the organizers! For the first time ever there was NO LINE to pick up our credentials. It took me a total of THREE MINUTES. I remember when I used to be in line for at least an hour to get my press badge. Today, it was a breeze.
And just to end a perfect day, Lindsay McCallum, the Paris Correspondent of FashionWindows and I visited Zang Toi in his atelier to get a sneak peek of his Spring 2011 collection. Video is included below.
