PARIS, Mar 23, 2014/ — If Acne Studios womenswear went nautical for Spring/Summer 2014, menswear went for the jugular. The Acne Studios heritage, influenced by street culture, music andartistic “factory” creativity, is the primary input for a new path and identity in the men’s collection for 2014.
The inspiration was eclectic, putting influences from decades, not just years from 1950s shaped coats in summer tweed to the 1970s style blazers and gold and silver covered linen suiting that gives the evening a real feeling.
Coloured jumpers in cashmere reference ‘90s grunge. Leather jackets come in ‘60s styling, one fabricated in suede with asymmetrical zippers and a t-shirt style collar, along with a beatnik shirt version in pearlized white.
A “fake normal” style is proposed and expressed in an elongated, elevated silhouette.
This comes through in extra slim high waisted jackets and short pants, as well as in a high waisted evasé trouser. Naked sandals and structured gentlemen’s evening slippers bring a feminine touch.
It’s bold, it’s brave and not for the faint of heart! The Acne Studios Men Spring-Summer 2014 Collection Now in stores and online at www.acnestudios.com.
