Seventeen-year old Kaia Gerber is proving to be a chip off the old block or maybe we should say a chip off the old blocks with an S, with both parents Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford highly successful models before her.

On Monday, December 10th, during The Fashion Awards 2018 in partnership with Swarovski named young Kaia Gerber as Model of the Year. Rita Ora presented her with the unique Swarovski crystal trophy, designed by Ghanaian-British architect Sir David Adjaye OBE at the Royal Albert Hall.

Gerber landed her first modeling gig with Versace’s junior line, Young Versace when she was 10 years old. She also posed for Vogue, Teen Vogue and Pop Magazine even before she made her runway debut in 2017 for Raf Simons’ Calvin Klein Collection.

She then walked for fashion houses such as Marc Jacobs, Burberry, Alexander Wang, Coach, Prada, Chanel, Fendi, Moschino and Versace, alongside her mother during 2018 Spring Fashion Week.

Gerber landed her first solo Vogue cover on the February 2018 issue of Vogue Paris. Gerber appeared in Spring 2018 campaigns for Versace, Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs and Omega. In 2018 she led the campaign for Marc Jacobs Daisy fragrance.

Aside from modelling, Gerber also dabble in fashion design. In 2018 she collaborated with designer Karl Lagerfeld to create the KarlxKaia collection; which was her first collection.

Kaia Gerber accepted her award at the Royal Albert Hall in front of a global mix of 4,000 guests, including key players from the fashion industry as well as members of the public and fashion students.
